"Helmet  Bronze, silver, iron  Mesopotamia or Iran  Sasanian period, 5th century A.D.  ....  The helmet, oriignally lined with leather, consists of broad bands of bronze and iron plates covered with a thin layer of silver, stamped with a feather pattern.  The warrior's head would originally have been obscured and protected by a web of metal links of mail that hung from the holes in the lower rim."
