"Chuba  Tibet  Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century  Chinese brocade
A traditional garment made for the cold climate of Tibet, a chuba is a warm ankle-length robe
with long sleeves that is bound around the waist by a long sash.  The upper portion becomes
a large pocket for stowing necessities such as bowls for food or money.  Normally made from
hand-woven and dyed sheep's wool, this chuba has been fashioned from Chinese brocade."
