"Late Medieval Warrior  This figure is based on a 15th century effigy at Ballynakill church, Co. Galway, said to be a Burke warrior.
His armour is typical of a late medieval Irish nobleman -- a long coat of mail with separate collar and bascinet (helmet).
His padded aketon can be seen beneath the mail coat and he probably wears light leather shoes or boots."
"Laoch ón Mheánaois Dhéanach  Ta an fior seo bunaithe ar shamhail ón 15ú haois ag séipéal Bhaile na Cille, Co na Gaillimhe,
de laoch de chuid na mBúrcacha deirtear.  Sampla tipiciúil é an chathéide atá air den chatheide a chaitheadh duine de uaisle na hÉireann sa mheárnaois dhéanach -- cóta fada máille le bóna agus clogad bascinet ar leithligh.  Is féidir a chotún a fheiceáil faoina chóta máilleach agus is dócha go bhfuil bróga nó buataisí éadroma leathair á gcaitheamh aige."
