Subjecthersir sea raider
Culture: Scandinavian / Norse
Setting: Viking age, northern Europe 8th-10thc

1. Del Tin #2103A
This is a Del Tin Armi Antiche sword with significant after-market modifications: a belted scabbard, antiqued blade, and rewrapped grip. None of these modifications affects the sword's handling, which is very heavy.
The scabbard has an integral belt, and while comfortable and convenient is not consistent with the way Viking swords of this period were worn. Available evidence indicates they were instead generally worn on a baldric.
At first the scabbard and grip had an even, deep green color, but for some reason it's faded over time. This despite the sword being stored out of direct sunlight. Compare my original photo with more recent event photos, showing it bleaching into a yellowish tinge.

2. Hanwei Tinker #SH2408
This sword is light and agile, but the grip is very flat which makes handling somewhat uncomfortable.
